Learning Through Play

Creating Enabling Environments

Each stage of childhood is provided with a unique space and atmosphere designed specifically to meet their needs. We also have designated sleeping rooms for those who need a nap, which double as calming sensory areas for children to use when necessary.

There is ample outdoor area for running, a mud kitchen, bicycles, and numerous other activities.

We love having outside visitors to cover a diverse range of topics, and regularly have experts in for sports, animals, and even French!

Settling in

We know leaving your little one for the first time can be hard (usually harder for you than them!) so we offer as many settling in sessions as your little one needs to get them familiar with the faces and surroundings. We will work with you to make their first few sessions as easy as possible, you let us know the routine and we will care for your little one as if they were our own.

Home Cooked Meals

Our fees are fully inclusive of all meals, drinks and snacks. We firmly believe that a well balanced and nutritious diet should be available to each child on a daily basis.  We serve breakfast, lunch and tea, with additional refreshments and snacks throughout the day. Fresh drinking water is always on offer to the children.

All our meals are cooked at the nursery by our chef Terry. We provide purees during the weaning months and are able to cater for most dietary requirements and your key worker will work with you to overcome even the most demanding of eaters.

Learning & Development

We follow the EYFS curriculum providing stimulating, engaging educational activities for your child throughout the day. We learn through play and love to encourage exploration whether that’s through messy play, painting, climbing or discovering.

Communication

We work in partnership with our parents. Each child has their own online portal where we upload daily activities and observations alongside lots of photos so you can see what your little one has been up to. At drop off and pick up you have the chance to chat with your Key Person to tell them any important changes, or to find out what they’ve had to eat, how long they’ve napped and generally how their day has been!

What People Are Saying

Oscar Bears’ is such a friendly caring environment. My two year old has an older sibling with complex medical needs and Oscar Bears’ have been so supportive of the challenges my 2 year old faces and the additional support and love that he sometimes needs.

They are flexible and caring in all areas and the staff are always positive and keen to help.

Both of our boys have gone there from young babies and have always been very happy here. The staff are so friendly and there’s such a lovely atmosphere. They’ve been extremely accommodating with our changing needs and adhoc days. We’ve another baby on the way who is already signed up to start!

Going back to work after having my first baby was difficult, however having a wonderful caring environment for our 10 month old to go to nursery, made it that little bit easier. The staff worked tirelessly to ensure both us and our little one felt settled over his first few months and he now loves going. A beautiful nursery with very caring staff.

Baby Bears

Our Baby Bears room has been especially designed to provide a safe, stimulating environment for your young child. Using bright colour schemes and interactive play equipment our fully qualified staff aim to help develop your child’s confidence whilst away from you. Your baby will flourish in our loving home-from-home environment that encourages exploration and investigation through play.

Our dedicated Sleep Room provides your child a quiet sanctuary away from the play area, allowing for undisturbed nap times to ensure comfort for your little one. As the Sleep Room is a separate space it allows for our staff to continue to follow your family routine so your child’s days between nursery and home are seamless.

When not in use our sleep room doubles as a sensory space where babies are presented with intellectual and physical stimulation to foster development. We recognise that from birth babies are marvellous learners, immediately investigating the sounds and sights of their surroundings.

We have a variety of mirrors in different places for babies to explore what they look like and helping babies to realise, that they are separate and different to others.

Treasure baskets are used to allow babies to explore natural items such as sponges, wooden pegs, spoons etc.

Our fees include all nappies, wipes, formula or cows milk, snacks, meals and purees when weaning.

Overall, our baby room offers a secure and nurturing environment that promotes early learning and development through various opportunities.

Our Koala room for those aged 2-3 has been organised to fully complement the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.  Here children are able to independently explore the environment, whilst learning valuable educational and social skills.  Our fully qualified staff will use this purpose built environment to enhance the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of each child, ensuring that their individual needs are met.

We believe that children deserve the best care and education. Our aim is not only to offer this, but to develop and foster social skills, providing experiences to nurture and develop, ensuring that children in our care move on as happy and confident little people.

We strive to support their progress in all areas by offering a variety of stimulating toys and activities throughout the day. They can engage in imaginative play with construction toys, get active with physical toys, explore messy and tactile elements, or express themselves through arts and crafts. Just like our youngest ones, the Koalas also have access to outdoor play areas.

When they need some quiet time, there is a dedicating resting or sleep room available.

Connie has learnt so much and developed so many skills at nursery. She particularly loves French, and loved being able to go to the Panda room for French lessons whilst she was still in the Koala room.

Panda Bears

The Panda room is for our pre-school children – specifically designed for 3 and 4 year olds. It offers an immersive learning environment with a variety of engaging activities to foster curiosity and exploration.

Our dedicated team works to prepare the Pandas for their next educational journey into Big School. Alongside academic growth, we also focus on social skills such as cooperation, adaptability, problem-solving, and taking risks in order to facilitate well-rounded development.

Our Pandas enjoy regular visits from experts such as Michael from Pro Tots Sports who joins us every Friday in our outdoor areas to help us practice our ball skills and coordination, as well as animal visitors and regular French lessons!
